As you get ready for the Summer 2022 semester, we would like to share with you some materials that will help you with your travel to the U.S., adjust to campus life and meet some health and safety requirements.

COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Requirements

All international students traveling to the United States by air should consider the following:

  • make sure you are up to date with COVID-19 vaccines
  • must show proof of being fully vaccinated with the primary series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine
  • must show a negative COVID-19 test result taken no more than 1 day before travel or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 90 days
  • wear a mask over your nose and mouth in indoor areas including airplanes, transportation hubs and airports

USC policy also requires all students to be up to date on all vaccinations for COVID-19 unless you have submitted an approved medical or religious exemption. Meeting this COVID-19 safety requirement is mandatory to start attending classes on campus.

Students are required to upload a photo of their vaccine card to the “Upload Documents” section of MYSHR prior to campus arrival.

COVID Testing remains free and available to all students, faculty, and staff.

Mandatory testing for the following groups remains in place:

  • Unvaccinated with an approved exemption or not fully vaccinated students, staff, and faculty must be tested every 72 hours in accordance with public health guidelines.
  • Students who are vaccinated but have not received their booster vaccine when eligible test twice per week (every 4 days).
  • Staff and faculty who are vaccinated but have not received their booster vaccine when eligible must test once per week.
